London trip 2016

On October 10th all 38 Totnes Art and Design Foundation students boarded the train and headed off to London for a three day residential trip. The trip is an intrinsic part of the course and enables students to see high quality exhibitions and take in a tour of a prestigious Art College. This year the students were taken to Wimbledon School of Art where a number of Totnes Foundation Course alumni are currently studying. As well as the trip to Wimbledon the students were taken to Tate Britain, The British Museum, The Royal Academy and The Victoria and Albert Museum. During the trip students who have already identified their particular specialisms went to other venues including a Film Festival, The House of Illustration and The Photographers’ Gallery where they were given a talk by the Senior Print Sales advisor.

The students were asked to research a number of artists whilst in London and this is now helping to shape and inform their current work now that they are back at The Foundation Studios at Kennicott
